The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) and Incubation Centre (IC) at Tripura University were established in March 2024 under the project "Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Incubation Centre in the Educational Institutes of North Eastern Region". This initiative is sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Shillong, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, and implemented by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati.
The dual centres are envisioned to serve as catalysts for entrepreneurship, innovation, and start-up development in the North Eastern Region, particularly benefiting students from higher education institutions (HEIs) and aspiring entrepreneurs beyond academic settings.

- To become a premier provider of professional development, research, and entrepreneurship promotion in Northeast India.
- To establish a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that drives innovation and economic development.
Mission
- To create a supportive environment for entrepreneurial activities through training, research, and enterprise development, with a special focus on the North Eastern Region.
- To nurture and support start-ups and entrepreneurs through mentorship, training, and resource access.
Key Objectives
- Promote awareness and motivation for entrepreneurship and incubation.
- Design and implement effective entrepreneurship development models.
- Orient faculty towards the goals and outcomes of the project.
- Develop an academic curriculum for entrepreneurship and incubation.
- Identify and support student entrepreneurs through joint initiatives.
