Integrated Master Degree Programme(IMD)

Brief Profile of the Department

In pursuance of the UGC's recommendations on reforms in Higher Education, Tripura University has introduced the Integrated Masters Degree Programme in the Humanities and Social Science disciplines, Mathematics and Computer Applications. The Programme solicits Students having Higher Secondary (HS +2) qualification, ready to pursue a career in the general Degree courses of the University, but with the aim of developing basic research skills in Higher Education. The Course structure and the subject combinations offered through the semester pattern of examinations for preparing undergraduate students both for competitive examinations at various levels, as well as for equipping them with all necessary databases enabling a smooth entry into higher academics. Project based group work as well as dissertation writing introduced at multiple levels during the programme for orienting young minds towards creative self expression and developing analytical skills, transcending conventional rote learning. It is expected that our university, through the introduction of this programme, is able to promote holistic education in the true spirit of the institution's motto - The Pursuit of Excellence.
