At a Glance

The Sports Board, Tripura University was set up in the year 1998. There are more than 50 numbers of men, women, co-educational & Educational Colleges affiliated to the University. The Sports Board is located in the Tripura University Campus. Tripura University Sports Board Committee has been formed to guide, frame policies and co-ordinate the sports activities. In order to encourage sports activities of the rural and small colleges, Tripura University Sports Board functions under the overall control and supervision of Secretary of Sports Board.

The main objective of the Sports Board is to foster sportsman spirit inculcating sense of discipline, co-operation, social harmony, integrity and fitness among the players, students and University stakeholder. Sports Board further feels concerned about the health and fitness of Tripura University employees and organizes a different sports activities and fitness festival for them every year. Students as well as Employees also Participated in games like Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Judo, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Table-Tennis, Tug of War, Volleyball, Yoga and etc. The participation of the University employees is always encouraging. It has proved to be a very useful scheme for the university employees. Tripura University Sports Board organizes games and sports in the affiliated colleges and to raise University teams in various disciplines for Intervarsity, Combined University, World University and other State and National Tournaments.

To create and train the highly qualified professionals in the field of Sports.
To establish the placement services in various academic and non-academic area.
To promote the mass participation in the field of Sports.
To impart the scientific knowledge and encourage the studies in the field of Sports.
To promote the Games & Sports programs at the grass root level.
To provide the community services in the field of Games & Sports.
To promote Games & Sports as the social vehicle to inculcate the community understanding and goodwill upon the people of Different ethnic groups.

Achievements in Team Events by Tripura University

Tripura University got 2nd Position in East Zone Inter University Cricket Men Tournament, Session 2014-15 and qualifies for All India Inter University Tournament.
Tripura University got 3rd Position in East Zone Inter University Football Men Tournament, Session 2014-15 and qualifies for All India Inter University Tournament.
Tripura University got 4th Position in East Zone Inter University Volleyball Men Tournament, Session 2015-16 and qualifies for All India Inter University Tournament.
